stumbling into advent: christmas credo

Will post on RiverRunning as soon as a i have a few more minutes.  Was collecting thoughts about Advent and reading Jonny Baker where I found an advent affirmation of faith which caused me to think about what I would write as a christmas credo.  Here's what came:

I believe logic notwithstanding
I believe  logic notwithstanding that God became a baby
I believe Mary protected the prenatal God in her womb
and nursed the infant God at her breast
I believe Joseph, like me, eventually caught on,
but it took him a long time.
I believe that the holy family  were peasants, that the stable stank and so did the shepherds
I believe that that the political powers shook with fear
and convulsed into violence and that they still do
I believe these stories matter, believe that truth is deeper than fact
and has been throughout time.
