places i would rather be

okay.  minus 33 tonight.  that's without windchill.  Windchill tomorrow morning will make it around minus 46. Minus 46. Thats 51 below zero for you yanks. So here are some places I would rather be:

lovely Nuuk, where it will be a perfectly acceptable  minus 10 tomorrow.

or almost toasty McMurdo where it will be minus 1 or the ever so temperate Reykjavik at plus 4

[and they have only 5 hours of sunlight to do it in]. . . perhaps take a lovely stroll in Larwick at plus 7.

Better yet what about the sub-tropical Drogheda where it will be an astonishing plus 10 on Thursday

postscript [Wed AM] just woke up windchill is minus 50 C  that makes it a lovely 58 below F... or in the words of Mr. Farquharson  "cold enough to freeze the knots off a blue spruce"
