Avian flu. Public speaking. Dying. Being alone. Elevators. Rats. Pat Robertson's mind. There are many things to fear, and many things that, even if it's silly, we fear anyways. Sometimes fear is good. Gets us out of danger. More often it gets in the way of living with faith and courage and honesty. What are you afraid of? What do you do with your fears. kn/exion this week is all about fear and its antidote. Does it have one? 8 pm worship gathering. coffee's ready before, around 730. at knox.
Next sunday is an organizing meeting - a time for a variety of folk interested in kn/exion and central park transformation, in the cafe and community to gather together to start putting together some kind of organizational framework - so we can actually start doing something. 8 pm. knox. across from central park.
I was at a meeting today at Churchill Park UC [I'm on the transition team], where Fay, Chair of the Council there, closed with this lovely prayer by Therese of Lisieux:
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love
that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the
freedom to sing, dance, praise and love
Nice, eh?
